This isn’t some weird trick question – it is a fantastic donating fact. If you give via your payroll and would like to make a £5.00 donation (for example) to LifeBuilder it will only cost you £4.00. This is because the donation will come out of your pre-tax salary, so the Taxman will give LifeBuilder the income tax which would have been paid on the amount you donated.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer then we could get an even bigger donation without it costing you anymore.
The best bit is it really easy to set up.
All you need to do is fill in the form on this page; we will talk to your payroll department to set it up for you. To set up payroll giving, your employer will need to have an appointed payroll giving agency, if they don’t already have one then don’t worry, it takes about 5 minutes for your employer to fill in the forms to appoint one and this doesn’t have to cost them anything. We would be happy to advise them on what to do, guiding them through the whole process. If you don’t know if they have an appointed payroll giving agency then don’t worry – we will find out when we contact your payroll department.

If you donate £9 a month for a year through payroll giving, it could give another woman in India, like Kulwant, the chance to become a dairy entrepreneur, giving her a route out of poverty.
If you donate £3 a month for a year we could give a poor illiterate woman the skill of reading and writing. Then, for the first time in her life she will be able to read and write, opening up a world of employment opportunities and knowledge for her.
