What makes a good fundraising event?

Anything! Just use your imagination. At the bottom of this page we have added a few ideas of our own just to get your juices flowing.

What are the key things to putting on a fundraiser?

Publicity – do your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours know about what you are putting on? Without their support you won’t be able to raise too much money – so make a poster, email them, set up an event on facebook, tweet about it, talk about it in person, contact your local paper.

How do I make the most out of the money I raise?

Gift Aid! If you are being sponsored for an event then make sure you ask everyone who is a UK taxpayer to fill in a gift aid form – that we LifeBuilder will get an extra 25p for each £1 they donate. But be careful – gift aid can’t be claimed on anything which is a sale of an item or a service – like an entry ticket.

How do I collect the money?

The easiest way might be for you to set up a Virgin Money Giving Page – that way your supporters can make donations on-line for your event and the money goes straight to LifeBuilder – you will be able to see a nice running tab of what you have raised.

Alternatively you can collect the cash – we have lots of collection tins which we can lend out if you would like – just contact us. Then you can either send us a cheque for the amount raised or deposit the money at the bank. For any more information please just contact us.
