Bhupinder Kaur

Bhupinder excitedly declares that today is the first step to her being “an independent lady”. “I will now be able to afford to pay for the books for my son to go to school”

Bhupinder is a young mother to 4 year-old son but Bhupinder and her husband Jasvir have struggled to create the life that every parent wishes for their child. Jasvir’s illness has meant that he has not been able to work at all. Their only source of income was from Jasvir’s family’s own small income. Bhupinder, Jasvir and their son were living off just 75p a day, an income so small that Bhupinder often had to go without food.
