Lifebuilder's past and current programmes have been designed to be sustainable as they help to empower individuals and communities in the long term. This is achieved through passing on practical vocational skills, enabling enterprise opportunities, improving education and health, providing material donations and creating improved village-level infrastrucure.

Literacy Programme

Literacy Programme52% of women in India are illiterate. LifeBuilder wants to change this. LifeBuilder is currently developing a new literacy programme in Punjabi to help women from poor communities to learn to read and write.

 

   
Women's Dairy Enterprisewomen with cow - stowersLifeBuilder is using cows to fight poverty. LifeBuilder trains poor women in how to be a dairy farmer and gives them access to micro-finance to buy cows. LifeBuilder works with these poor women to give them a secure regular income for the first time in their lives - giving them a route out of poverty.
   
English Language Education
Education English Language And I.TWhen you earn little from the skills you do have knowing English can massively improve your chances of getting better paid employment. LifeBuilder has now provided english classes for 300 students - giving them a chance at a better future
   
Vocational Training
Catering Hotel and Kitchen Management Girls at workLifeBuilder provides young people from poor backgrounds with vocational training - giving them skills which can be used to develop a career. We give people a chance to have secure employment and a life away from poverty.
